Governance mechanisms BCIE

Develop governance and internal control mechanisms for the follow-up, monitoring and evaluation of Projects in the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources of Nicaragua (MARENA). Mechanisms should include the development of a subsidy policy.

Goals

  • Support the accreditation process of MARENA (the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources of Nicaragua) to the GCF for closing the gaps.
  • Preparation of good governance procedures, referring to ethics and supervision and external audit, based on the current procedures of MARENA. ‍
  • Preparation of a proposal for follow-up, monitoring and evaluation procedures, which incorporates the best international practices for projects with low to medium environmental and social risks and impacts, considering aspects of gender equality and the rights of indigenous people. ‍
  • Development of a grant award policy and manual for its implementation.Support the accreditation process of MARENA (the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources of Nicaragua) to the GCF, for closing the gaps.
